A week in the Life of a '92 Mercury Topaz

This was a busy week. I had my first car inspection, complete with my first Mechanic-trying-to-scam-me experience. (Both my boss and my roommate volunteered that they knew a guy that could take care of this, fixing what really needs fixing and re-inspecting. I cancelled my appointment with my boss' honest mechanic to honor my earlier appointment with Sherri's family mechanic. The tire rods that the Random Mechanic Closest to My House said would cost me $220 to replace are not, in fact, in need of any repair whatsoever. I paid about $79 for a few minor repairs, an oil change, and State Inspection. I even have more leg-room, since Sherri moved the seat back to accomodate taller-than-her persons, using controls that I personally can't seem to get to work, and she cleaned up the interior so it would look nice for the mechanic. It's good to know people. )
Also, I went to the Balloon Festival last night and this took longer than I'd originally planned. It was mobbed and I missed the actual balloons. I bought food from charities. Fried Dough *is* good with salt and pepper. Believe it. It's true.

There is one vendor that comes to La Kermesse every year that puts out cinnamon, sugar and apple pie filling out so the customers can put as much as desired on the fried dough. Mmmmmmmm. Don't tell my dad, but it's one of the few things I miss about not going to Kermesse anymore.
